Benjamin Shell : Senior Engineer
Ben is a senior engineer at WorkHabit, with a passion to make make technology more accessible to others through teaching, contributing to the open source community, and developing cutting edge social web applications.
Ben started developing for Drupal in 2003 and immediately became interested in helping people leverage Drupal’s powerful architecture for use in media-based applications. He went on to do freelance Drupal development work with an emphasis on user interface programming using Javascript and AJAX. During this time he was also finishing college in an unrelated discipline—mechanical engineering—and graduated with a B.S.M.E. in 2007. More than anything Ben enjoys a new challenge. In addition to keeping up with the latest on Internet development, he is always pushing himself to grow in other areas, such as photography, robotics, and computer graphics. And part of the that, he volunteers each August as a committee member at SIGGRAPH, an annual gathering of professionals involved with computer graphics used in film, games, science, engineering, and on the web.
