Liz Schroeder : CFO/COO
Liz Schroeder, M.A. earned her degrees from the University of California, Davis. As an assistant professor she taught Group Communications with a Project Management twist.
Later, utilizing her degree in research design, she worked for the University of California Agricultural Issues Department where she delved into designing questions of how regulations affect how farmers do business in the highly regulated state of California. Leading a team of 14, Liz assisted the research leaders in questioning hundreds of farmers and creating a database to record their responses.
After her marriage to a fellow U.C. Davis graduate, Liz moved to North Carolina where, after having three active children, Stephanie (12), Natalie (11), and Andrew (9), she became a successful entrepreneur who created and built a chain of coffee shops known as “Leapin’ Lizards’” that has 40 employees across four locations, two of which reside in WakeMed hospitals. For her company she helped create a Point of Sale system that allows eligible hospital employees to pay for their purchases via payroll deduction.
Now, after 7 years in business, and with a highly skilled and trained management staff in place over her coffee shops, Liz has decided to create and manage the operational systems for WorkHabit in a new fast-paced and dynamic arena. Liz is the AP, AR, HR and benefits guru for WorkHabit. Additionally, she works closely with the sales and project management staff to mesh together current, on the ground reality with far-reaching projections for WorkHabit.
When not chained to her desk, Liz enjoys hiking, biking, boating, running, traveling, horseback riding, back country exploring, surf kayaking, beach camping, cooking, gardening, reading a good book, and anything dangerous and wildly adventurous. Anything challenging is seen by Liz as a dare - not an impediment.
